The doll is an ’80s style pull-string toy, updated for 2017 with eight of Donald Trump’s most memorable/depressing catchphrases to remind you just how ridiculous the man in charge of running the country really is. Finding it tough on the dating scene? “Talking Trump” suggests you “Grab ’em by the pussy!” Had a hard day at work? This doll reminds you how “Sad!” your pathetic life is.
A percentage of every Talking Trump Pull String Doll purchased will be donated to Planned Parenthood and The ACLU. Nicole Daddona, the woman behind the doll, is a Los-Angeles based illustrator, cartoonist and maker. Her work is colorful and weird in the best way, and often includes political and pop culture references combined with her retro aesthetic. She created the ’80s-themed toy and video to poke fun at the old-school attitude to women currently pervading the Trump administration, because laughing is basically the only way to deal with such absurd levels of misogyny. That, and voting to get rid of these clowns ASAP.
