If you were up watching CSPAN last night while the House of Representatives were debating, then voting on, the latest health care reform bill, you might have seen the latest in a disturbing trend of interruptions by Republicans. Bart Stupak, a Democratic representative from the state of Michigan who came under fire for his amendment to the health care bill, was speaking about how he felt the bill wasn’t pro-life, and Republican Randy Neugebauer, a rep from Texas, yelled “baby killer!” at him. Yes! Betty White will be a more permanent fixture on TV, this time as a recurring character in a new series premiering on TV Land in June, “Hot in Cleveland.” According to a company press release, White will play the “snarky but loveable…property caretaker” to a home of other bankable small screen names—Wendie Malick, Jane Leeves and Valerie Bertinelli. If only the premise of the show felt a little less disturbing.   Apparently Malikc, Leeves and Bertinelli are on board a plane that makes an emergency landing in Cleveland. Read More
  We've known for some time that Betty White would be on SNL, we just didn't know when. Or if she would actually be hosting. Now it's confirmed, the 88-year-old actor will have her day on May 8, 2010.   SNL Executive Producer Lorne Michaels told USA Today he was moved by the Facebook group, "Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!" group. We're thrilled Lorne noticed its nearly half a million fans.   What we didn't know, till a quick search of the Internets, is that maybe Betty has been hot to do this for decades. Read More
