House music might be an unconventional format for emotional vulnerability, but Mother, the first full-length album from acclaimed Berlin-based DJ Logic1000, subtly reflects the artist’s life as a new parent. The best songs, like “Oceanic” and “Self to Blame,” are especially melodic and easy to get lost in. Although on the surface, many of these tracks sound like fairly standard house music, they are enlivened by elements of ’90s electronica and 2000s-era R&B.
