I don't enjoy watching things like Animal Planet. While the footage is usually pretty neat, the narration totally kills it for me. So boring! Enter the YouTube series Randall's Animals. A sample line from "The Crazy Nastyass Honey Badger": "Here's a house full of bees. You think the honey badger cares? It doesn't give a shit. It goes right into the house of bees to get some larvae. How disgusting is that? It eats larvae!" I think I've found my remedy. Check ... Read More
Apparently the producer was interviewing over the phone, but it seems more like Greg Sestero was interviewing Tommy Wiseau. Or maybe it seems more like a painfully boring interview that you just cannot seem to stop watching. It's probably because Wiseau, who we've previously interviewed here at BUST, may or may not have lost his damn mind. After watching part one of the interview in it's entirety, I don't really know what I've learned, but I do know that Wiseau ... Read More
Dude-comedy maverick, Judd Apatow, recently announced he'll be producing a comedy by women. Bridesmaids is written by SNL's Kristen Wiig and The Groundling's Annie Mumolo and is a veritable who's-who of tv's comediennes; with a line-up featuring Maya Rudolph (SNL), Ellie Kemper (The Office), Rose Byrne (The Damages), Wendi McLendon-Covey (Reno 911!'s) and Melissa McCarthey (The Gilmore Girls), as the pack of zany gal-pal bridesmaids along for the wild wedding ... I've been waiting for this day for weeks--the day that the rest of the country can finally experience Portlandia, the new comedy series on IFC of which we here at BUST are already die-hard fans. Start with Carrie Brownstein, she of everyone's favorite grrrl band Sleater-Kinney (who knew she was funny?) and Fred Armisen (ex-Mr. Peggy Olson and current SNL cast member) and add a good dose of laughing-at-ourselves irony, and you get what just might be the funniest ... On IFC's Portlandia, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein lock Steve Buscemi in a feminist bookstore after forcing him to make a purchase for using the customers-only bathroom. Picking up something embroidered with a rotary phone, he says, "I'll take this wristband." "That's not a wristband, that's a coffee cozy," they reply in earnest. From dumpster diving to ear-plugged bike messengers to the Sherlock Homies, a hipster adult hide 'n seek league, the two are funny ... Read More
In totally adorable news, the next Muppet movie (set for release in February 2012) will see a totally different side to everyone's favorite muppets—Animal's in an anger-management clinic, Fozzie's started a tribute band—including Miss Piggy, who will, in Muppet world, be the new plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris. I can only hope the film with feature a fashion spread with Miss Piggy as the model—she's looking pretty cozy with Marc Jacobs ... Read More
Admittedly, tru TV's reality show Rehab: Party at the Hard Rock Hotel doesn't exactly broadcast a feminist tone, from the internet tagline "Sexy women in teeny bikinis hang poolside at Las Vegas' hottest party." to the near-constant clips of gyrating ladies and screaming, beefy, tribal-tattooed, shants-clad men. It's probably not the sort of show you'd see a promo for and think, "Gee, that looks worth checking out!" However, we all know that we can find ... Read More
In 2010, HBO premiered Afghan Star, a documentary about Afghanistan's version of "American Idol." The movie featured the story of Setara, a young woman whose head scarf slipped off while performing on the show. As you can imagine,  the quick reveal of her hair  sparked a controversy in the country.  On January 26th, HBO2 will debut their new documentary Silencing The Song: An Afghan Fallen Star, which follows Setara as "she deals with ... Look at the TREE!!

BY Laurie in Boob Tube

For me, I really don't get into the Christmas spirit until I've watched this gem at least 3x. I know, I know, I post it every year, BUT, much like a Rankin-Bass Xmas shows, you can never get enough of John Roberts! And now that we have thankfully shipped our Feb. issue off to the printer, I can relax and finish my shopping. But first, who wants Bailey's? You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this ... Read More
Here at BUST HQ we're racing to get our latest issue to the printer, then take a well-deserved and much-needed break. Wanted to leave our viewers and fans with a nice little holiday message, and I don't think there's anyone, or anything, that can convey that happy, joyous holiday spirit better than Henrietta and Myrna here. Enjoy! You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this ... Read More
