When I heard the TV show Drop Dead Diva had been picked up by Lifetime Television, I was uber excited to hear that someone, anyone, was planning to air it, because the always fabulous Margaret Cho co-stars in it. Creator Josh Berman originally sold it to FOX, but it fell by the wayside during the WGA strike. It's now set to hit Lifetime this summer. Read More

Topshop til you Drop!

BY Web Intern in General

It seems like every female, and fashion-forward male, in New York is buzzing about Topshop's grand opening tomorrow. I even have some friends from CT coming to stay with me tonight so they can be there bright and early in the morning. All this TS frenzy is blowing my mind; I just don't get it. When those doors open, it's going to be like a running of the bulls in SoHo. But I will say, Topshop has been doing quite a good job promoting, 'possibly the best store-opening promotion ever' according to NY Magazine. Read More
To follow up on a post from the other day, in response to the Pope's ridiculous anti-condom allegations, legions of people are planning to mail condoms to the Vatican in protest. Some sources are estimating that he could receive close to 5 million rubber jackets . It all started as a humble little 60,000 person campaign through an Italian Facebook page . But then the idea spread like - well, like a condom-induced epidemic, I suppose - across Europe and the rest of the world. Read More

Ruby the Ewok Terrier

BY Dawn in General

This is Ruby, my favorite neighborhood pup. I'm not sure what breed she is, but I'm pretty certain that it's some kind of Ewok Terrier mix. Every time I see her I am reduced to a puddle of squeals and yelps. Read More
Earlier this month, President Obama signed an Executive Order, creating the White House Council on Women and Girls. The Council was created 'to provide a coordinated federal response to the challenges confronted by women and girls, and to ensure that all Cabinet and Cabinet-level agencies consider how their policies and programs impact women and families, 'according to the press release from the Office of the Press Secretary of the White House. What's great about the creation of this Council, for one, is that it's long overdue. Read More

That's How I Roll

The warm weather is a' comin'-- time for me to bust out my rad bicycle! I can only bring myself to ride it to the grocery store and back during the winter, when my neighborhood is basically a frozen tundra, but in the summer I'm all bike all the time. And I know I'm not alone: thanks to the green movement and cities becoming more bicycle friendly by the minute (for starters, New York is making good on its promise to add 200 miles of bike lanes to the city in three years, and several cities are trying to launch bike share programs), ridership is way up in urban areas. Benny Does it Again

BY Web Intern in General

Every once in a while there is a person that makes me wonder if they are seriously just waking up in the morning a thinking to themselves 'hmmmm, how can i best aggravate volatile situations, wreak havoc on the world and generally behave like a massive ass?' I'm not talking about those people who consider it some sort of aristotelian duty to annoy all they come across (ahem, Dad). I'm talking about a person who seems to want to murder basic decency. For me, today, that person is Pope Benedict XVI. Read More
The beloved, cherished children's book Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, originally published in the 60s, is being adapted into a movie of the same title. We all remember the classic because we were just like Max as a child; being sent to bed with no supper for just being a kid and creating a world to escape to. Without eating, our mind can create some pretty vivid stuff, as Max did with by creating the Wild Things and their world. Check the trailer to the movie! Where The Wild Things Are is due out this fall, October 16th, a year after it was originally scheduled to open. Read More
