It's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world! Just ask the one and only Dolly Parton, cover woman for BUST's June/July Summer Music Issue. An idol for generations, this gal shows no sign of stopping, or even slowing down. And staying fresh? Please. Just listen to her cover of Bon Jovi's "Lay Your Hands on Me."
(Make sure you listen all the way to the end so you can hear her say, "Lord, I'm ready for America.")
Her new album, Blue Smoke, comes out May 29, marking her most recent release in a career of literally hundreds. She's the classic. She's the originator. Read More

Chloe Temtchine's voice is clear, sultry and strong. She has pouty supermodel lips and high, perfectly arched brows. She's thin and tall with tan skin, and silky black hair. Hailing from Seattle, the lesbian-slam-poet-songstress sings haunting ballads of loving one’s self and overcoming pain. Read More
Here’s proof that you can’t judge based on what you see- French television talent show contestant Rachel Aspe looks like she is shy and reserved, the type of girl who would have a set of angelic pipes. But when she took the stage for “La France A Un Incroyable Talent” (the French version of “America’s Got Talent”), her performance shocked the hell out of the judges and all those watching, and has gained nearly 2 million hits on YouTube. Why? Because Rachel is a metal singer, and she screamed her way through her performance like a total badass. Read More

U.K. singer Lianne La Havas is standing on the precipice of superstardom. She’s been buzzed about and blogged about, but until very recently, we’d only heard a few of her songs (including the amazing “Forget,” which you should check out on YouTube immediately). Luckily, we had the opportunity to check out an intimate showcase by La Havas here in NYC, and were blown away by her confidence on stage and by her powerful-yet-delicate voice. She’s got wisdom in her lyrics and skill in her vocals that are far beyond what you’d expect from a 22-year-old. Read More
