In honor of the reunion of Fleetwood Mac announced this week (we’re talking new album AND tour!!!!), you should not miss this gorgeous cover of “Dreams,” performed by former Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester and musician Dana Williams. The song was written by Stevie Nicks for the album Rumours (1977), and it was Fleetwood Mac's only #1 hit in the US to sell over one million copies. Yea, Stevie's good like that.
The cover is definitively worth a listen on a gloomy day like today (seriously New York, muggy AND rainy? We just can't win). Read More

Some excellent Secondhand News for your Thursday doldrums (teehee): Christine McVie is re-joining Fleetwood Mac. Then, Fleetwood Mac is going back into the studio– the same studio, in fact, where they recorded Tusk in 1979. Then, they're going on an American tour. U.S. dates begin this September. This is not a drill, ladies.
Keyboardist/singer McVie (who we can thank for various top ten hits, like Don't Stop) is the last to re-join history's most gossipy band. Read More

If you were like me and you danced around your bedroom in a silk robe listening to “Gypsy” at age 14, this should be good news for you: the Stevie Nicks documentary “In Your Dreams” is coming out on DVD December 3rd.
From what I gather from the preview, the documentary follows her current journey back into music and touches upon her famous past. Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and Dave Stewart also make cameos in the film. The documentary was directed by Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart—just some of the many reasons Fleetwood Mac fans should see it. Read More

It feels right…it feels right…Oh!
This morning I awoke to see that NPR had posted the full stream of Haim’s new album, “Days Are Gone.” The girl group has deservedly been getting a lot of press lately. "Days Are Gone" sounds like a glorious blend of my favorite girl groups. The album includes singles that have been securing them spots at Glastonbury, but other tracks also offer something different. "Days are Gone" has some of the most innovative genre bending I have heard in a few years. Read More

This past summer, Fleetwood Mac warmed our collective heart cockles when they announced that they’d be reuniting for a smattering of shows in 2013. The promise of a few shows was enough to set Fleetwood Mac fans a-tweaking, but the reality has turned out to be even sweeter. The band will tour a full 34 cities this go-around, beginning April 4th in Columbus, Ohio.
It’s only been three years since the band last hit the road, but excitement for the upcoming tour is already skyrocketing among fans. Read More

Yup you read that right--Fleetwood Mac is getting back together. The ethereal gypsy that is Stevie Nicks spoke with “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday about the group reuniting for a handful of shows in 2013.
“Next year, so far..it’s the plan.”
The number of plays “Rumours” has in my iPod is up in the triple digits and I am crazy excited--like tween crying at boy band concert excited--for the chance to see Fleetwood Mac live on stage. My life will be complete once I get my hands on those tickets.
But 2013 is still a little while away. Read More
