Joe’s Pub at The Public is trying this cool new thing, an artists-in-residence initiative, and I am sure glad that they are. Now through Sept. 25 you can see the unique and thrilling experience of Larry Krone's visual masterpieces from his upcoming Look Book through the 2014-2015 season.
Pieces from his book, photographed mainly by Todd Oldham, will be on display in the Philip Janice Levin Foundation Mezzanine. These photos showcase creations of Larry Krone’s BRAND (stage costumes) since 1997 and the House of Larréon (fashion line), which launched in 2010. Read More

The Future Feminism Collective is planning to unveil their "13 Tenets of Future Feminism" at The Hole Art Gallery as part of a series of various lectures, conferences and performances by several talented artists. The series will go from September 11-27, kicked off by a concert this Sunday, September 7th, at Webster Hall, starring CocoRosie, with guests Kembra Pfahler and the Girls of Karen Black, Antony (of Antony and the Johnsons) and DJ Johanna Constantine. The latest project from art activist group FORCE is crossing the country this month with the goal of upsetting rape culture. At each stop on the Monument Quilt's 13-city tour, FORCE invites survivors to share their stories on quilt squares. The Monument Quilt's final stop is in Washington, D.C., where quilt squares will be stitched together to form the message "Not Alone".
Today the Monument Quilt visits NYC! Visit the Queens Museum from 3pm to 8pm to eat cookies, tell your story, and to act as a witness. Read More
