Hold on to your hats, ladies and gentlemen. The War On Women continues to rage (and enrage) in Michigan as two more abortion limitation bills reach Governor Rick Snyder’s office.
The Senate voted 27-10 to pass a bill that expands licensing requirements for abortion clinics—one of which stipulates the size of medical areas. That detail alone would shut down several clinics.
The second bill, which passed in to the full House, stipulates the right of health care providers to refuse service based on moral or religious objections. Read More
Now that it's not copacetic to throw the V-word around in the realm of American government, I decided to go ahead and make a short list of places where it is okay to use the word "vagina." Feel free to use this as a guide so that you don't startle any unexpected listeners. We don't know what the free use of anatomical terms could lead to, but some possibilities are: maturity, correctness, tolerance and, of course, anarchy.

We’ve already learned that it’s pretty tough to be a woman in Michigan these days. But it turns out that vaginas aren’t the only thing that makes state lawmakers clutch their Bibles at night.
Last week, Michigan legislators were hard at work passing House Bill 5040, also known as “First Do Harm”. The bill would excuse religious students in the state from providing psychological services to those who don’t hold their personal moral values. Read More

Brace yourselves ladies, because things in Michigan aren’t looking so great for women these days. The state House of Representatives voted Wednesday on a dramatic anti-choice bill that would impose severe regulations on abortion clinics. While we agree it’s best for women to have access to clean and safe facilities, many Democrats in Michigan argue this bill goes beyond simple inspection requirements and instead aims to regulate the clinics out of existence entirely.
