Not much makes sense in life, and not much seems fair, but my new favorite Tumblr, Fairy Tales for Twenty-Somethings, helps validate life's little insecurities by a) poking fun of them and taking away their power and b) capturing them accurately enough to reassure millennial bundles of anxiety that we’re not alone in our neurosis.
Peruse, laugh, cry, laugh some more.

In what we can only guess is an attempt to put together the most effing amazing awards show ever, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are set to co-host the 70th Annual Golden Globes. These funny ladies only get funnier when they’re together. Remember Tina photo-bombing Amy at the Globes last year? Or the 2011 Emmys? Or Baby Mama? Or SNL? The list of times the two have been brilliantly paired together goes on and on.
The Golden Globes will air on January 13, 2013. Cannot freakin’ wait.

After Katie Roiphe wrote an article criticizing feminists nowadays for being too sarcastic instead of being “serious” and “straightforward,” Amanda Marcotte over at Slate wrote a response to Roiphe’s article, saying that feminists are sarcastic these days because, well, pretty much everyone is! In celebration of snark, we’ve compiled a list of ten of our favorite snarky feminists (in no particular order).

Tonight, I will be doing one of three things: high-fiving a million angels, working on my night cheese, or crying out of my mouth. I might even do them all at the same time. Why? Because tonight, the first episode of the final season of 30 Rock airs. While I'm looking forward to the new season, I'm devastated that it's over. In times of great strife like these, I feel that I must turn to music and/or dairy products for consolation. Luckily, BUST covergirl Tina Fey provided us with plenty of hilarious musical stylings over the past few years, both for her and her castmates. Read More

There are a whole lot of reasons to love BUST darling and comedian extraordinaire Mike Birbiglia. But chalk up one more for his new movie Sleepwalk With Me. Based on his one-man show of the same name, and produced by This American Life heartthrob Ira Glass, we at BUST HQ have been excited about this movie for a while. (Don’t believe us? Check out our interview with Birbiglia in our August/September issue and our blog posts on him and his movie.)
This movie has been out for a few weeks, but if you don’t live in a major city you might not have seen it around. Read More

Sometimes us Americans like to think that we’re the ones who don’t have accents. However, in this popular short film, "How Americans Sound to British People", it seems that we most definitely do...and our accents are pretty gnarly. The comments on the video are pretty much half “what the f are they saying?!” and half “OMG, this is brilliant.” I agree--aside from “shut up” and a few swear words, I couldn’t understand a thing. We love the Feminist Ryan Gosling blog so very much, but now there’s a new feminist meme in town-- one that centers around President Obama.
In light of the many recent Republican attacks on women, we're particularly loving Obama's comments in favor of women's reproductive rights. Nerve.com has turned some of the best quotes into fantastic "Hey Girl" images (essentially, actual Obama quotes preceded by, "Hey girl"). Read More

The London Olympics are coming to a close. After all that excitement and preparation, it’s pretty crazy that it’ll be done in just a few days. Luckily, we saw some amazing athletes rise to the occasion and they’re bringing back a lot of gold to America.
While those Olympic athletes were giving every competition their all, they were also giving us some enormous laughs, albeit unintentionally. Here are the best internet sensations, memes and gaffs to come out of the Summer Games.

Living in a generation of Photoshop, fat-shaming, and stick-thin models, it sometimes seems nearly impossible to imagine a time when "skinny" was a bad word. That’s why we couldn’t help but wonder if we'd stumbled into some sort of alternate universe when we discovered these vintage advertisements for weight gain. Read More

Some of you in the NYC area may have noticed Amy Poehler at the 92Y on our Hot Dates calendar a few weeks ago, and hopefully a lucky few were able to catch the Parks and Recreation funny lady crack some jokes and talk about the importance of improv comedy to her life and her career, how much she loves her Parks and Rec castmates, (hint: she'd both take a bullet for them and sleep with them), and that time she played Dorothy in a 4th grade production of The Wizard of Oz.
