On Wednesday this feminist was drinking beer with her friends, THESE feminists were marching on Kabul.

That’s right, Kabul. Anywhere you go, courage is one of the most essential tools in your feminist-box. But the proverbial balls on these women could sink ships. April 15, they took to the streets to demand equality and oppose the passing of a recent law that legalizes marital rape.

The resulting angry men throwing stones, screaming degrading epithets and spitting are pretty predictable. The most poignant part of this story, other than the sheer bravery of the act itself, is that there was an equally large counter-protest by female religious students supporting the law. According to the London Times, at some point in the protest, both factions were chanting ”we want honor and respect for women.”
