Last night was the Vogue sponsored "Fashion's Night Out," and while I had my immense doubts about FNO stemming from last year's shit show (for a lack of a better phrase) and from the incredibly awkward name (c'mon now, an apostrophe on fashion? How is that easy to say?). I still decided to approach it with an open mind but with a large, large grain of salt.
So, I planned my schedule and decided to see how successful this evening was going to be. Read More

When I was a little girl, my parents bribed me with the Little Mermaid on VHS as a materialistic means of getting me to stop biting my fingernail to the nubs. I stopped. I watched.
I guess I'm going through another mermaid phase. Growing my hair out. Wearing flowy clothes. ANYWAY, while in Houston visiting my family I stumbled upon an amazing up-and-coming jewelry designer - Christina Miller.
Her pieces are incredible. All about stones and draping. Read More

Ever the art-chameleon, Cindy Sherman gives us a new reason to follow Fashion's Night Out this Friday, September 10th, as Balenciaga's creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, hosts the U.S. debut of Cindy Sherman: Untitled (Balenciaga), a series of six images featuring the artist's trademark portraits, dressed exclusively and completely in Balenciaga.
Since 1977, Sherman has been displaying stills of herself transformed into female stereotypes, movie stars, centerfold nudes, fairy tale characters, disaster victims, and historical figures. Read More

Fashion week is upon us, and that means a lot of parties, and a lot of outfits! On of my favorite NYC vintage shops, Amarcord, is have a Fashion Night Out party this Friday, and I'll be one of the guest judges for their street style contest! All you have to do is get dolled up in one of your most fashion-y get-ups, stop by the Soho store for a glass of champagne between the hours of 8:45-11pm and have your polaroid taken by one of the lovely shop girls. The end of August, in London, is actually quite chilly compared to the States. Like the true stereotype of London weather, practically my entire week there was marked with drizzly rain and overcast skies. However, I love to photograph on overcast days, so it was rather nice for me. My last day there, the clouds parted and there was no rain! I ran over to shoreditch (think williamsburg of london) to capture some london street style. Per usual, high res images here.
What I Saw:
A lot of neutral colors- like camel, nutty brown, soft blacks, and khakis. Read More

This summer I discovered my new favorite blog, ManRepeller.com. The site pokes fun at trends, which Leandra Medine (the blog’s creator) deems as “man repelling”. For example, you won’t get laid if you’re wearing drop crotch harem pants, or shoes that look like grizzly bear paws. Karl Lagerfeld isn’t looking out for your sex life. Unfortunately or fortunately (depending on how you look at it) for me, I cannot afford Chanel…and I have sex somewhat regularly. Read More

Okay so just how bossy does KELIS look in this incredible bodysuit by RLHS???
Our pals and regular Craftacular vendor also known as "ruffeoheartslilsnoty" are no doubt over the moon about superstar glamour sugar baby KELIS sporting their ridiculously amazing HUMANIZE MASTER body suit last week at her show at Webster Hall.
"I dont know what its going to take to make RHLS blow up like the apocalypse and turn the world inside out into a land of re-imagined positivity, making pre-apocalyptic earth seem like a laughable bad dream. But this may help. Read More

And to prove it, they have dedicated their third Book of Shadows all to us. With colors like the electric blue that is Radium, Psychedelic Sister’s pretty purple, and the whitish silver of Uzi (which is what I’m guessing you would see if you were actually shot by one), what’s not to love? I barely even wear makeup and I want this thing…just look at it! Who doesn’t secretly adore a pop-up book? That being said, you better hightail it to the Times Square Sephora next Saturday, August 28th at 1 PM. Read More

There is the final update on Stockholm Street Style, seeing as I am now in the UK. I've included some spectacularly dressed men, just fyi. I mean, seriously, check out these guys. I'm kind of in awe and I'm not just talking about the dude rocking the serious ankle breakers (I fall down stairs in f-l-a-t-s so I'm impressed when anyone can stay vertical in a shoe that has more than a three inch heel). Here is my last update on Stockholm Street Style during Fashion Week, stay tuned for some London updates-soon to come!
Per usual, high res versions here. Read More

Hey all,Today was rather eventful, I photographed Bryanboy, and some rather other amazing people. Photographing street style has led me to reflect upon what makes up Swedish street style. Swedish fashion style, similar to Danish fashion style, is all about opaque black tights, architectural shoes, and beautiful, blousey and gathered shirt dresses and high, high avant garde heels. American fashion seems so much about flattering the figure and emphasizing thin-ness or what have you- it's more about hotness, but this is about art and fashion, fun with dressing. Read More
