                  The Nobel Committee announced that three female activists would share this year’s Nobel Peace Prize. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the President of Liberia, along with Liberian activist Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkul Karman, an activist from Yemen were all chosen “for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work.” Each woman has pretty long list of achievements. The number one reason I wish I lived in NYC, from this past weekend, was SlutWalk NYC!  I really wish I could have made it.  I even had a poster I wanted to make, inspired by (stolen from) another sign I'd seen online: "When a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face YOU TREAT HER WITH RESPECT!"  I love that these SlutWalks have been growing as a movement and happening all across the US, and even around the globe.
