Carrie Brownstein just doesn't stop! We recently posted clips of her hilarious work with Fred Armisen as one half of Thunderant, and now she's back again with a more serious turn in the film Some Days Are Better Than Others. The trailer premiered today on the film's website, which offers this bit of tantalizing information: Corin Tucker, also formerly of Sleater-Kinney, will be making an appearance as 'soccer mom.' Ladies, you're obviously still hanging out. Can't you just get the band back together already? Pleeeeease. Read More
For graduation, my bestie and I wanted to go all out--drop some serious doughcoin on something totally extravagant and somewhat irresponsible. I'm pretty sure most people in our situation would pull a collegiate cop-out and buy a bunch of booze. Mark your calendars, ladies! On October 11, BUST's very own Emily Rems will be celebrity judging the 9th Annual Miss Lez Pageant in Brooklyn, New York! In other words, there are no rules and the outcome is always worth the price of admission. Read More
I don't really remember too much about Sweet Valley High, just that my babysitter was hooked! She'd come over on the weekend, watch a little Saved by the Bell, and then have her stack of mags and Sweet Valley Highs all ready to go. If I would have been a hair older, I most likely would have been all over this 152+ book series. Well, I might just have to get into the series since... Read More
I adore Miranda July. I want her creativity for my own and I gobble up everything she produces, whether it be her short stories, performance art, films, or the Learning to Love You More assignments (which they no longer do!). When I saw the pictures of her on VICE's site, well, I craved more. The subject of the set of pictures was to take an extra from a still of a film (The Godfather, Grease, and The Outsiders are three of those that were selected) and have July recreate that scene, thus giving full attention to someone who is simply part of the background in these films.
