It’s been about a year since we’ve had any new content from Oscar-winning screenwriter/total badass Diablo Cody, and if you’re anything like me this fact is a total bummer. Well, fear not, my fellow Diablo Cody fans! Along with penning the Evil Dead remake set to come out in the spring, Cody is also developing a sitcom for ABC called Alex + Amy.
According to Entertainment Weekly, this show is a “Comedy about a romance between an ambitious 22-year-old Millenial guy and a 32-year-old Gen X woman who have just moved in together and are very much in love. Read More

Fear not, Deadites, because Evil Dead is making a comeback. A remake of the original cult classic is scheduled for April 12, 2013 and guess what – the protagonist will be a girl!
For those who aren’t familiar with the original Evil Dead trilogy, the first film came out in 1981. The hero was Ash Williams, played by Bruce Campbell, a normal guy who always ended up dealing with some crazy ancient supernatural forces as he fought off demons with a shotgun and a chainsaw (which he later attached to replace his right arm). Barnard College’s Athena Center for Leadership Studies is celebrating women in film, both behind and in front of the camera. Paying tribute to female directors, writers, and producers (as well as the female characters they help create), the second annual Athena Film Festival is “A Celebration of Women and Leadership.”
The festival, running from February 9-12 at Barnard’s campus, focuses on diversity in both the real world and the film world. Read More

It's official...one of our favorite BUST-y ladies, Diablo Cody, has sold a pilot to Fox! So far, the only thing anyone knows is that it is called The Breadwinner and it's a comedy. I can only imagine where it could possibly go from there. My mind is running laps with a title like that.
Also also also, she is in the process of working on a repeat performance with Juno director Jason Reitman which will be a film starring Charlize Theron (nice!!) called Young Adult. Read More
