In an interview with Bitch Magazine, Runaways bass player Jackie Fuchs discusses how she came forward last month to say that Kim Fowley had raped her in 1976. Fuchs was passed out at the time of the attack, having taken Quaaludes, but multiple people saw the rape occur; the recent Bill Cosby allegations and other women telling their stories moved Fuchs to speak out about her own experience.

I loved the summer horror flick The Conjuring, a creative, visually arresting retelling of a supposedly true exorcism story. The haunted house represented in the film was (as legend has it) haunted by the ghost of a woman who killed her child decades prior. As the final credits rolled on screen, visions of Vera Farmiga as the brave and compassionate medium Lorraine Warren clouded my thoughts; she was nothing short of magical.
