Tim Burton, the king of spooky cool and curator of '90s kids’ favorite movies from childhood, is coming out with a new lady-centered movie, Big Eyes.
The film is a true story about Margaret Keane, an artist from the 1950s played by Amy Adams, who specialized in painting images of children with freakishly huge eyes. But her husband Walter, played by the charming Christoph Waltz, is not such a charming character. In fact, he’s kind of a jerk.

Big Eyes, as many of you may know, is the newest Tim Burton film that is slated to premiere sometime this coming December, and in anticipation of the film, new photos of Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz have just been released. The film follows the large-eyed, harlequin doll art of Margaret Keane (Adams) that took the 60s by storm (and heavily influenced Burton) and its subsequent exploitation by her husband, Walter (Waltz). Guitarist, songwriter, and singer Kate Eldridge is probably one of the hardest working musicians in the punk scene right now. Big Eyes started in Brooklyn, NY (although they’ve relocated to Seattle, WA), and has been releasing LPs, EPs, split 7 inches, and touring left and right since 2009. Kate shreds on guitar and writes some catchy-ass lyrics (see “Back From the Moon”). Big Eyes is like rock ’n’ roll but a little heavier. Read More

Lady Gaga is supposedly to blame for the slow rise of a new trend concerning the “big eye” look she showed off in the video for ‘Bad Romance.’ While the look seems to have originated in anime and manga, it can’t be denied that The Gaga would naturally be the one to bring it to the forefront, trendsetter that she is.
