Last Saturday night brought an evening of laughs as the world tuned into the 40th anniversary of SNL. The marathon-length show averaged 23.1 million viewers, more views than an NBC primetime telecast (aside from the Super Bowl) in over a decade. The legion of actors include audience favorites such as Jimmy Fallon, Amy Poehler, Chris Rock, Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, and many more. Read More

When Kim Novak took the stage at the Oscars with Matthew McConaughey, I got uncomfortable hearing her awkward line delivery – her very obvious facial “work” was much less of my concern. In fact, although I knew her name and the general sex-appeal-connotation, Kim Novak is a bit before my time. I had to do a quick Google search to confirm her Glamazon history.
Twitter can be a particular kind of cruel to public figures – as Jimmy Kimmel has so smartly pointed out. Read More
The New Republic’s Laura Bennett has something important to say about Betty White’s recent roles in her essay “Betty White Is Not a Sex Machine: Our Cruel Obsession with Dirty Old Women.” While she acknowledges that elderly women in the media have gained traction, ceasing to be mostly “sexless [...] prudish nags,” she sees an increase in sexual exploitation of older women. From Betty White’s role in Hot in Cleveland to Cloris Leachman’s Maw Maw on Raising Hope, older women in the media are often over-sexualized and sexually deviant. Read More

That's right, your favorite sitcom ladies of the '70s are coming together to fulfill our dreams in a new episode of TV Land's Hot in Cleveland. Cloris Leachman, Valerie Harper, and Mary Tyler Moore herself will star alongside Cleveland cast members Betty White and Georgia Engel. This will be the first time the five have appeared on television together since 1977. The plot is said to involve Elka and Mamie Sue getting their GLOB (Gorgeous Ladies of Bowling) team back together. Read More

It's the moment we've all been waiting for.
Last week we told you how spectacular she is at giving presents, but this week she's taken my excitement level from a 4.5 to an 11. Betty White, that sassy spitfire who's enjoying a second wave of fame (maybe third? fourth? fifth at this point?), has joined Twitter. Let the celebrations commence!
Two hours after joining, she was already nearing 40,000 followers. And, in true Betty White fashion, her third Tweet was a flirtatious wink at the one and only Ryan Seacrest. Read More

It must be nice to have friends like Betty White. Seriously, the lady's 90 years old and is still making me laugh. The latest proof of her impenetrable aura of cool: she got Elton John a crocodile for his birthday a few weeks ago, the Huffington Post reports.
Now now now. Before you animal lovers get upset at the thought of the flamboyant pop crooner (or anyone, for that matter) actually owning a crocodile, let me explain. An animal lover herself, White decided to sponsor a crocodile at the Los Angeles Zoo on Elton John's behalf. Read More

I’m not embarrassed to say that as a kid the character of Rose Nylund on “The Golden Girls” was a hero of mine. I’ve also clocked in a fair amount of time watching old “Mary Tyler Moore” reruns in awe of Sue Ann Nivens. I was entirely convinced that I could learn all I needed to know about being a lady by letting Betty White teach me. At 89, Betty White is still killin’ it. Last year she received a lifetime achievement award from the Screen Actors Guild. She’s won seven Grammies. Read More

Search "Betty White" on youtube and amidst clips of her referring to Sarah Palin as a "crazy bitch" on Craig Ferguson's show, making fun of the Facebook-mania when she hosted Saturday Night Live, and calling herself a whore on The George Lopez Show, you will now find a recently released promotional video for her clothing line, a collection of t-shirts and hoodies sporting images of Betty's very own face. The clip features White as a far-from-polite fashion designer taking us on a behind-the-scenes tour of her sweatshop-like factory. Read More

Kind of. Here's the opening of last night's Emmy Awards featuring plenty of awesome people. And by awesome I mean not only Betty and Jon, I'm talkin' Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Jane Lynch, the Glee crew, Joel McHale, and even Kate Gosselin making fun of herself. Top that off with a little Bruce Springsteen action and you have a hilarious intro. Bon appetit!

In case you didn't already start your Friday off with a smile, here's a video of the always funny and cute Betty White doing an interview with Asylum's Ron Babcock. Rob tries to woo Betty and asks her advice on dating older women (not cougars, Ron!), and Betty is clearly too cool for the dirty-shirted dude.
UPDATE: Apologies for the video not uploading! Here's a link. Read More
