You too can wax your ears with greatness, as tickets are now on sale for BAM’s evening of conversation with Miranda July and Lena Dunham. The event will take place Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn. Tickets start at $35. For those of you in southern California, a similar event is coming up in Pasadena on Oct. 15.

Musical legend and founder of The Velvet Underground, John Cale is bringing his highly anticipated concert Life Along the Borderline: A Tribute to Nico to BAM this season, and it promises to be pretty special.
As part of the Next Wave Festival, Cale is performing the one night only concert of Nico songs on January 16th, featuring Kim Gordon, Joan as Police Woman, Mark Lanegan, Magnetic Fields, Meshell Ndegeocello, Peaches, and Sharon Van Etten, among others. Read More

Annie Clark looks like a character right out of Tim Burton’s dreams. With her porcelain skin, big doe eyes and lots of unruly curls it’s hard to look away. It’s also very easy to take her for granted as just another pretty face. But once Clark straps on her guitar she’s a force to be reckoned with.
For BAM’s Crossing Brooklyn Ferry, a festival to celebrate Brooklyn musicians curated by The National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner, Clark focused on her most recent album, Strange Mercy, which balances hints of honesty with blistering guitar breaks. Read More
