Meet Douglas, a beautiful growing African hippopotamus. He was found abandoned at two weeks old by rescuers with Conservation Lower Zambezi, and he now lives at Chipembele Wildlife Rescue in hopes of growing up safely and learning how to be a wild hippo. Douglas’s hobbies include swimming, splashing, strolling waterside, and sipping from a baby bottle. Oh, and playing with his two best friends, little doggies Molly and Coco. The rambunctious pair of terriers assure that Douglas never has a dull moment, and the trio seems right at home. Read More

It's the start of another week, which means it's time to face the struggles of life anew. What better to combat that with than videos of small and fuzzy animals doing ridiculous stuff?! There's nothing that says "I'll worry about those taxes later!" quite like a clip of a hamster stuffing ten carrots into his cheek pouches. The zoo staff has since been dedicated to the cuddly twosome as their adoptive family, and it seems that the road hasn’t always been easy. Read More

At five weeks old, Justin was found in North Pennsylvania on April 26 after being purposefully doused with an accelerant and lit on fire. On fire. A small, tiny, adorable kitten. I don’t understand this. Look at this face! Who could viciously attack this cuteness?
While I may not be partial to the name Justin (hello, ex-boyfriend!), this particular Justin has my heart all ooey and gooey. I want to love him and hold him and feed him and care for him forever. Whoever abused him makes me angry and so very, very confused. Read More

A new study from Japanese researchers at Hiroshima University has found that looking at photos of baby animals may actually help improve your productivity.
The researchers tested out their theory by having small groups of participants play the game Operation. They then had one group look at puppies and kittens while the other group looked at adult cats and dogs (yawn, right?). They played Operation again, and the group that had looked at the baby animals had a higher performance score than the group that had looked at grown animals. Read More
