Wake Up, Sleepies!

by Intern Brittany J.

I know that recently I posted No Doubt’s Excuse Me, Mr. and said that it was my “gettin’ pumped” song, but I have a confession to make. It’s not the only one. *gasp!*

Alas, it is true, I don’t work out, but I have almost a constant mental list of songs that get me geared up for the day. My life’s been feeling a little lackluster as of late (“WHAT AM I DOING WHERE AM I GOING WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING AHHHHHH”), and so, when I find myself in times of trouble, my iPod shuffle comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, “let it be me.” (Too much?)

No, but seriously, when I feel like crap, I let shufflin’ pick what I’m supposed to listen to because it usually just knows. Does this happen to anyone else? The all-knowing iPod?

So here we go. This is what my shuffle proffered today. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the lovely Amanda Palmer with Leeds United.

PS. If you haven’t heard, Ms. Palmer is starring as the Emcee in the American Repertory Theater’s production of Cabaret very very soon. You can check out more information here at her blog and here at the ART’s site.
