Taylor Momsen and The Pretty Reckless Make Oasis Sound Pretty Good

by Caelan

Everyone knows that guy at the party who busts out the acoustic guitar and begins the opening chords of “Wonderwall” by Oasis while exclaiming, “sing along if you know the words” only to be followed by a mediocre-at-best rendition of a classic, that really shouldn’t be touched.

However, Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless took on the legendary band — covering the song “Champagne Supernova”– and absolutely nailed it. While I could do without the sunglasses indoors (I guess it’s a rockstar thing?), she casually sits on stage wearing a giant flannel and does this song absolute justice to say the least.

I’m gonna argue that Taylor is probably the most badass young female currently in the industry. This babe has gone through hell and back when it came to the media’s criticism during her process of rebranding herself from teen actress to legitimate, take-no-prisoners rockstar.

It’s safe to say she’s made it through all of that and is finally at a point in her career where she can let her talent and music speak for itself.  And it sounds very sweet, in a totally badass way of course.

And only she would write a summer anthem properly titled “F’d Up World,” along with a pretty insane music video that is very much NSFW.

What do you think about this cover? What are some other non-shitty covers of famous songs? BUST music mavens let us know about them in the comments below!
