I Love Witches

by Emily Rems

According to this story on CNN.com today , a group in London is ‘petitioning the British government for a posthumous pardon for the hundreds of people executed for witchcraft between the 16th and 18th centuries.’

I dunno – seems like too little too late to me, and the whole angle of sending the petition around on Halloween strikes me as pretty hokey considering that over 400 real-live people were executed in England for alleged witchcraft before The Witchcraft Act of 1735 put an end to Britain’s witch trials. But if it makes people feel better about the whole mess, why not? To get onto the petition and demand the Queen’s apology yourself, visit pardonthewitches.com.
