Flight of the Conchords to Fly Again!

by Debbie Stoller

Things have been pretty bleak around here since Flight of the Conchords went into self-imposed exile. The hilarious music duo and one-time BUST cover boys Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie walked away from their band after creating 2 seasons of the best comedy series ever to hit HBO, taking with them the hopes and sex dreams of a nation of smitten women and girls.

But now comes news that these adorable kiwis will be bringing their sugarlumps to our shores once more, which means you have another chance to try to make that Bret/Jemaine sandwich happen. (I’m kidding, of course: both Bret and Jemaine are already partnered, and so, probably, are you.) (Also, even if they were both on your “freebie list,” chances are you wouldn’t be on theirs.) (And even if you were on their “freebie list,” they would definitely not be on eachother’s—I mean, they wouldn’t want to be sexing one another). (At least I don’t think so.) (Why did I just bring that image to mind? Now I can’t concentrate.)

According to Billboard, Clement revealed that the two are planning on touring later this year, playing their old standards along with some new material.

Both Clement and McKenzie have been quite busy since their show went off the air, acting in and creating music for films, but they haven’t performed together in years, so the news of this reunion is sweet, sweet music to the ears of their fans. We can’t wait to tell Mel!
