Tonight I thought of Lorraine Hansberry, author of 'A Raisin in the Sun' and songstress, Nina Simone. Simone co-wrote the song and tribute to Hansberry and the Civil Rights movement 'To Be Young, Gifted and Black.' I'm so sick of reading about the distaste that some idiots had on Michelle Obama 's outfit on the night of her husband's historical victory. Not only did I have a new and exciting prez to vote for this election, but it seemed like an endless amount of propositions that I had get on too. One of the most important and controversial one is Prop 8 . It would eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry in the state of California.
