I am totally a nasty lady at heart. I have come along way in my single girl habits and try to keep my home less nausea inducing then in past years. But, just because I am trying doesn’t mean I really know how to clean. Thanks to this site howtocleanstuff.net everything from my bong to my hand-me-down mattress will be fresh as a daisy. And yes, there are even directions to clean a rabid monkey. The site lets users give their tips so you can keep checking back for new ways to attack. Best part, every time you give a tip, they donate $0.25 to the clean water fund. Read More

Booty Call

BY Team Intern in General

Nothing cramps your stilo more than a sad, floppy pair of calf-high boots. Propping them up against a wall or another boot rarely works, and wish as you might that folding the tops over won’t crease the fabric… well. Let’s just say it’s recently become kind of a sore spot. (RIP, my beautiful suede knee-highs, RIP).    Luckily, these cutie Booty Shapers have swooped in to save my soles. The inflatable supports slip right into your fave boots and keep them looking brand new. Read More

It's official

I lived in San Francisco back in 2004 when mayor Gavin Newsom decided same-sex couples should be able to marry and I saw the crowd of ecstatic partners lined up outside of City Hall to take advantage of the opportunity. So, I can only imagine what the scene is like all over California today. In addition to gay marriage getting two thumbs up, SF-based singer/songwriter Larkin Gayl’s new album came out today, and to celebrate both she’s giving away one of the tracks, “I Do,” a sweet, happy song about marriage (gay or otherwise). Check it out. Read More
Sometimes, it's good to return to your roots.I spent an enlightening day perusing the Barnard College Zine Library, curated by research librarian, activist and zinester Jenna Freedman (with the help of awesome zine intern Melissa). Read More
My BFF is having a baby and I am in charge of the baby shower. Well the New York one, her mom is throwing a traditional shower for the fam and close friends. Sunday was the day we had the baby shower planning party/clothing swap (because I know dick about baby showers and wanted to come up with less vomit inducing games and ummm swap some clothes). The cover story of the Daily News that day was "Baby Gangstas"! We'd already been thinking the colors focus would be bling and not pastel, essentially dollabill-green and gold. Read More
We get a lot of love at BUST, but when your four-legged companion gets some adoration, well that just takes the cake.  Thanks to Miss Nile from BULLYWARE for being so thoughtful. Read More
Women, know your limits! Lifetime FOB (friend of BUST) Sheila B. from Xenomania Records sent this link to the office. Classic. It is from a British comedian Harry Enfield. Apparently he had a show on the BBC last year, check out a more recent video where a man scuttles away in horror because very intelligent women disgust and frighten him. Read More

R. Kelly Acquitted!

BY Callie in General

I have always loved Kels, and like a crazy Michael Jackson fan I wondered if found guilty, what would become of my love. Could I turn a blind eye or would I be so sickened I wouldn’t be able to have sex to “The Zoo” anymore? Would I have to change my ringtone from “Sex Weed” out of fear people would think I was a child pornographer supporter? Could I keep a child pornographer in my top 5 favorite people in the world list? I no longer have to worry; if the jury says they can't prove it I believe them. Read More

The Lost Girls?

BY Team Intern in General

Did anyone read this article from The New York Times last week? Admissions deans from top women’s colleges—including Bryn Mawr, Mount Holyoke, and Smith—recently spent some time recruiting female students in the Middle East. Seems like it could be a sweet deal: despite the best efforts of single-sex supporters like “boy-crisis” ringleader Leonard Sax, a lot of American high school females might not even consider applying to a woman’s college. International applications could definitely boost the selectivity of Seven Sisters-like institutions. Read More
