“Land of the Innocent” is the latest from electro-pop group Feathers. This Austin, Texas gals give us the best synthy beats and moody vocals with this track off their upcoming album If All Here Now, set for release April 15th. The video gets an A+ for the ladies’ super dope threads and strange, ethereal imagery. Watching this video just makes me want to zone out and drive my car around until I get lost.

Diane Tran is a straight-A student at Willis High School near Houston, Texas. She takes advanced placement and dual credit courses, and works hard for her good grades. She works two jobs outside of school to support her older brother and younger sister, for whom she is financially responsible. She is also, according Texas law and Judge Lanny Moriarty, a criminal.

Last month, Texas lost the Medicaid Women’s Health Program, which formerly served 130,000 low-income women by funding clinics that provided preventative care. (BUST blogged about this issue before the cut was made.) Once again, women’s rights are under attack. The Medicaid Women’s Health Program, a health-care program for low-income women in Texas, is in danger of losing $35 million dollars of federal funding because Governor Rick Perry won't allow any of it to go to Planned Parenthood.

Here's a bad idea from Texas, the state that has been bumming us out hardcore lately:
There should be a law that all women considering abortions in the state of Texas must have sonograms performed on them to view fetal images, hear fetal heartbeats, and have fetal features described to them...by their doctors...out loud.
