I’ve got beef, and it’s with school dress codes. Mostly with the notion that the amount of shoulder a girl is showing is going to be so distracting to boys that they won’t be able to focus on learning. Hello -- if you, high school boys, get so hot and bothered looking at a girl’s shoulder that you can’t focus on trigonometry, then we all have far bigger problems than inherited standards of "risqué dress."

Spring is in the air, which means so is prom season. In celebration, a few designers and models have released prom photos of themselves from back in the day. Amongst the adorableness is Betsey Johnson who, turns out, was prom queen in the frilliest, puffiest, pinkest dress imaginable. This picture just makes me so happy because, her hair might be kookier, but really not much has changed. Would you expect any less from Betsey?

A happy ending after all: Constance McMillen, the high school senior whose high school canceled the prom after she requested that she be able to wear a tux and bring her girlfriend, got to go to prom this past Friday. There's been a bit of good news for Constance McMillen amongst all the bad. A few weeks ago, we blogged about Constance's plight: she asked her school if she could wear a tux to prom and bring her girlfriend along. The school said no, and, after the media got a hold of the story, cancelled prom together. Constance got in touch with the ACLU and sued the school, saying her First Amendment rights were violated.
