Wrapper’s Delight

by BUST Magazine

Another day, another awesomely easy paper craft. This simple and adorbs bracelet tutorial is from Kayte Terry’s Paper Made!, which is packed with projects even the craft-averse will fall for.

That’s a Wrap Bangle

This is one of the easiest paper projects, and the results are stunning. Paper-wrapped bangles in boutiques go for a pretty penny, but you can make your own for a few bucks. These are so quick to make that you could start this project before dinner and have a new accessory for your out-on-the-town outfit that night.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

(makes 1 bangle)

  • Ruler
  • Craft knife
  • Self-healing cutting mat
  • Scraps of wallpaper or wrapping paper
  • Small foam brush
  • Decoupage medium
  • Plastic or wood bangle
  1. Use the ruler, craft knife, and cutting mat to cut 1?2″-wide strips of paper.
  2. Brush decoupage medium onto one end of a paper strip and press it along the inside of the bangle to secure it.
  3. Brush the rest of the bangle with decoupage medium and start wrapping the paper strip around the bangle, easing the paper strip as you wrap so it lies flat against the bangle.
  4. Continue wrapping the paper strip until you have covered the entire bangle or you run out of paper. If you reach the end of the paper strip, trim it so the end is hidden on the inside of the bangle and apply decoupage medium to it. Then start another paper strip, overlapping the end of the first on the inside of the bangle. Let dry.
  5. Brush the entire bangle with two coats of decoupage medium to seal, allowing for drying time in between each coat.
