Two Lovely Events (Sorry For the Short Notice)

EEEEEKS! If you’re just sitting around and wish you had something to do right now (and are in the NYC area), you can head down to Etsy Open Craft Night at Etsy Labs (55 Washington St., Suite 512, Brooklyn) to sew some reusable bags with Bags for the People and Katherine Bell, author of the new book, Quilting for Peace. If you can’t make it to the event, which ends at 8 PM this evening, you can view an online tutorial right now! To take a look-see at the tutorial, follow the Etsy Labs’ link and it will direct you to the right place. Be sure to sign up for an Etsy account if you haven’t already to take part in the action.

Another event that’s helping out Bags for the People is the First Annual Brooklyn Pie Bake-Off Benefit, taking place this Sunday (Nov. 22) from 1:30-4:30 PM at Spacecraft in Brooklyn. To enter, you must follow two simple rules: all pie crust must be homemade and one ingredient must be local (from within a 200 mile radius).

The event is 10 bucks and that includes free drinks (beer by Brooklyn Brews),  ice cream, and two pie slice tickets. Sounds like a tasty deal to me! To enter, email your name and pie to [email protected] by the 19th. Be sure to include your ingredients list (for allergy concerns) and be sure to point out which one is the local one!

Good luck to all the bakers!
