street style, transitions into fall

by caroline

Being a southern transplant to New York City, I find fall one of the trickiest of the seasons. You would think winter would be difficult but no no, it’s not, you just freeze and get to play in the snow and sometimes slip and fall on the sidewalks. Winter is easy because it’s consistent, consistently cold. Fall is a tempestuous mistress of a season, hot one day, cold the next. Or deliciously pleasant in the bright buttery sunlight and brisk and prickling the shade. Needless to say, you would think I detest fall, but autumn is my favorite season. I like that I can layer, however bad I may be at it. I love trying to stretch that summer dress from June into October.

But what do you all wear? Any tips for layering during these cold months? The best tip I ever got was in the dead of winter, instead of wearing one pair of stockings under my jeans, just wearing three pairs of stockings or two pairs of stockings with leggings over it. My legs were so much warmer!

I love this girl’s rittenhouse dress paired with the turban and fake fur collar.

I am really into how all of these different patterns came together. But not gonna lie, I am also into this from a photographic standpoint and how that gun sweater really pops against the background.

It look’s like these guys just wake up everyday looking like this, which I like. It’s as if they roll out of bed, grab the first thing they see and it ends up looking so natural but awesome.

I’m not really a jean material person, but I like the color palette and how it just makes this girl’s hair really stand out.
