Upcoming Event: How Rape Hurts All of Us
What: NOW NYC is hosting an event that discusses rape and how it hurts all women, the discussion is led by a panel of activists, authors and survivors. The group investigates how stereotypes about rape increase the epidemic of the violent crime and impact the way a survivor reaches justice.

Who: Helen Benedict, novelist and journalist, author of Virgin or Vamp: How the Press Covers Sex Crimes
Karen Carroll, a survivor, forensic specialist, and Associate Director of the Bronx SART
Nancy Schwartzman, filmmaker, activist and survivor, and creator of The Line Campaign
John Stoltenberg, activist, author, and DC Rape Crisis Center communications consultant Jane Manning, President of NOW NYC, is a “long-time New York City activist who has worked extensively to improve the criminal justice system’s response to sex crimes. She is a former sex crimes prosecutor.”
