Inspiring Feminist Leader, Cindy Watson, Transforms Lives And Futures For The Better

Each of us – you, me, everyone we know – is affected by the expectations people have of us from the “facts” of who we are. Gender, race. religion, geography, occupation, etc. But how powerful it would be to rise above those expectations and maximize our own potential. Cindy Watson helps people become more than they ever thought they could be – from the audiences she inspires as a speaker at meetings and events to the individuals for whom her consultations lead to heightened growth and success. She changes people’s lives for the better.

It was only recently that I learned about Cindy Watson and the significant positive difference she makes in the lives and careers of women. She does this as a Feminist leader, consultant and an informative, motivational speaker. I was so impressed by what I’d heard about her that I reached out directly to learn more about Cindy and to share her story with others.

First, Cindy Watson has achieved success as an attorney, a field traditionally dominated by men. When she first started out, she found herself needing to adopt stereotypically male behavior with an aggressive style. Becoming known as a “barracuda” in the firm where she began was a compliment. She wore the reputation as a badge of honor until the pressure to relate to people in that way began to affect her personal relationships and the sense she had of herself.
Thirty years ago, as part of her own journey and growth, Cindy became the founder and managing partner of Watson Labour Lawyers, specializing in social justice law.

Cindy analyzed the process of negotiation and determined six key elements that lead to success:

* Assertiveness
* Rapport-building
* Empathy
* Flexibility
* Intuition
* Trust

Assertiveness, of course, is stereotypically considered masculine. Cindy noticed, however, that the other traits for effective negotiation are generally associated with femininity. Aha!  The resulting acronym is A.R.E.F.I.T.  It conveys the idea that women ARE FIT to be successful negotiators … by using the strengths of who they are.

Cindy uses this realization today to make a positive impact on the world by helping women realize their innate capabilities in business and in life. She established WOMEN ON PURPOSE to help women step into the full force of their innate power by learning The Art of Feminine Negotiation™. This was the start of the “mission” that now drives and motivates her every day.

Frankly, the site is impressive.

Visit it and you’ll discover a number of ways in which Cindy is empowering women to be more successful, in business and in life.

For one thing, she’s available to share her insights as an effective speaker at meetings and events in Canada, the U.S.A. and around the world. The praise she earns is super enthusiastic.  For example …

The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) is the largest labor union representing transit and allied works in the U.S. and Canada. Jack Jackson, President of the union in the city of Mississauga, Canada had this to say about Cindy as a speaker.

“Everyone needs to hear Cindy Watson speak at least once. She is always the top speaker at every event I’ve ever attended. She commands the stage and the room, keeping even the most challenging audiences completely engaged. She is entertaining, charismatic, energetic, authentic and thought-provoking. It’s extraordinary to watch her in action.”

Having been a corporate executive myself, I was glad to discover that Cindy is available not just as a speaker but also to contribute to corporate leadership events and culture shift workshops. She’s flexible and ready to offer customized consulting for any business culture seeking the benefits of empowering the women in its organization to be more active and effective contributors to the business.

Cindy is also available for direct, personal coaching, whether one-on-one or in groups. She offers Mastermind Coaching with transformative immersion for women who are ready to step into their Feminine Power.

Here, again, Cindy has a tangible impact on people’s lives and careers.  Lois Boggs – President of the Ontario Public Service Staff Union (OPSSU) — had this endorsement to share:

“Cindy Watson has been working with our organization for over 20 years, successfully advocating to advance the interests of women and women’s rights. She is a master at motivating, inspiring and empowering women. She helped me gain the confidence and courage to step into my true power and purpose to become the President of our organization. Cindy is one of the most powerful motivating speakers and coaches I’ve ever seen. She’s a gifted speaker who leaves you inspired and activated and spurred to take on the world.”

You can get a direct experience of Cindy by viewing her TEDx talk:

“Rise of the Feminine Voice as the Key to Our Future”

Impressively, it’s just hit over 2 million views.

I’d also suggest checking out Cindy’s new book, “The Art of Feminine Negotiation”. It’s available via amazon Kindle and well as in as paperback.

From my point of view, it’s an unassailable fact: the more fully each of us can contribute our ideas and insights to achieve success in the world we share, the better off we all will be.  I’m encouraged that Cindy is actively using her insights and skills to help women contribute maximally throughout their lives. She’s done over 50 podcast guest interviews along with many Zoom presentations for women’s groups, mediators’ groups, etc. She has also had a very positive impact on audiences across the continent in the many keynote speeches she has given and stills gives to this day. Those presentations, along with her many radio and TV appearances, allow her to continue to change lives for the better today. If you have a chance to engage Cindy Watson for your audience – whether in person or by broadcast – I know you’ll be proud of the result.

I’m glad for this chance to spread awareness of the difference Cindy Watson is making in the world. I am confident you’ll be enriched by learning more about her.
