I Want to Ride My Bicycle

by Libby Zay

Now in it’s 9th year, the Bicycle Film Festival is out to prove that peddle pushing isn’t just a passing trend. Much like the number of two-wheelers seen on the street, it’s becoming unstoppable. You don’t have to be a hardcore biker babe to enjoy the show, either: those of us who prefer to take a joyride on our cruisers can get in tandem with cycle-centric cinema.

Currently in Paris, the wheels-on-reels tour will make stops in Auckland, Denver, Sydney, Tokyo, Melbourne, Miami, Boston, New Orleans and Washington DC before the year ends. Matador Travel compiled a list of some of this year’s most moving trailers. From bicycle carriage labor disputes to a 7,000 mile bike race through Africa, it’s got my wheels turning! Plus, I can’t get the song from the trailer out of my head! And no, it’s not Queen.
