Things have definitely been going well for the standup comedian and Inside Amy Schumer creator/star these days. In the past week, she’s divulged the name of her first movie, signed comedy mogul Judd Apatow to direct and produce it, and, this morning, officially announced her new standup tour, Amy Schumer’s Back Door Tour.
The tour kicks off in New York City on January 24th, and it will be hitting over 30 cities across the country. It’s sponsored by Comedy Central and is Schumer’s second standup effort to be endorsed by the network, which also airs Inside Amy Schumer, after her 2012 special Mostly Sex Stuff. Given the title, the tour will most likely be a continuation of Schumer’s unique and hilarious take on her experiences with sex and dating.
Schumer’s film, now titled Train Wreck, was written by the comedienne and will star her as a “basket case trying to rebuild her life.” Apatow is known as the creator of the cult TV show Freaks and Geeks and director of many of the decade’s most successful comedies, including Knocked Up, This Is 40, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin, but Train Wreck will be his first female-centric project (although he has producing credits on Bridesmaids and Girls).
You can buy tickets to the Back Door Tour starting December 6 at 10 am on Schumer’s website, and Inside Amy Schumer’s second season premieres on Comedy Central this April.
