Democrats were not the only creatures rejoicing last night; even farm animals had reason to celebrate. And it’s not because they were all pro-Obama (although I’m certain many of them were). Instead, the critters were celebrating the fact that Proposition 2 – the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act – passed in California yesterday! And thanks to this act, 20 million farm animals can rest a little easier, knowing that it will be illegal in that state to confine them to cages so small they can’t move. So soon, if you ask a piglet or a chicken if they can turn around in their cage, they’ll answer, ‘Yes we can.’
