The Washington Post’s Express magazine today made the upcoming Women’s March on Washington their cover story, with an illustration of the march’s participants forming a powerful symbol. The only problem? The cover showed the male symbol instead of the female one.
The embarrassing mistake was caught by plenty of readers/tweeters, many of whom took to social media to spotlight the publication for their slip up.
Facepalm.
Express was quick to make a statement in response, saying “We made a mistake on our cover this morning and we’re very embarrassed,” and adding that they “erroneously used a male symbol instead of a female symbol.” The publication quickly fixed the cover and tweeted what it was supposed to look like.
The Women’s March will be held on January 21, the day after Inauguration Day, in the U.S. Capitol and at sister marches across the country and the world. Thousands of women will be marching for their rights and BUST will be there as well!
