The WNBA Needs More ‘Ass And Titties,’ Fewer ‘Ugly’ Players, Says NBA Douchebag

by Erika W. Smith

Female athletes have enough to put up with, but the WNBA is currently dealing with a sexist media maelstrom thanks to some pretty awful comments from NBA player and certified douchebag Gilbert Arenas.

Arenas posted a series of Instagram rants sharing his unwanted opinions about how to improve the WNBA, which is doing just fine without him, thanks.

First, Arenas posted a video of two young, white, blonde women in thongs, bras and thigh-highs, “playing basketball” – meaning sexily running into each other and bouncing up and down.

In an incoherent Instagram rant, Arenas wrote, “NOW this is what america was hoping for when they announced the #WNBA back in 1996… not a bunch of chicks running around looking like, cast members from #orangeisthenewblack.”

After a lot more of this bullshit, he concluded, “and if u think this is sexist, 9 times out of 10 u the ugly one and we didnt pay to come see u play anyway #donkeykong …smdh #thiswillbeawesome #soldouteverywhere.”

But that wasn’t the end of it. Gilbert added some homophobia to his sexist bullshit with another post – since deleted – that read, “#Basketball has the lowest views by men BECUZ their mimicking MEN. #Basketballchicks has some of the best bodies in women sports #Lesbians or #str8 we can give two shits about what they prefer in the bedroom becuz men prefer #assandtitties and last time I checked theres 20 total titties and 10 asses running around but for some odd reason were not getting.”

After Gilbert took down that post, he added another where he apparently tried to take back his homophobic claims. “Hahahahaha I didnt say anything about them being #Lesbians lol…” he began, adding, “A female telling me shes a #lesbian is like a video chick saying she aint a groupie…I AINT really listening to shit she saying..all im trying to do is convince her and her partner that im a #lesbianstarterkit becuz we all know two females is better then 1 lmaoooooo.” No, not lmaooo. Ughhhhhh.

Then, Arenas posted a final post where he said “#FUCK YOU” to the people who disagreed with him and named the WNBA players he personally finds hot enough to fuck. Thanks, Arenas, we really needed your opinion there.

The WNBA issued a statement in response, calling Arenas’ statements “repugnant, utterly disrespectful and flat-out wrong.”

Several WNBA players tweeted photos and jokes in response, but our favorite response might be from Elena Delle Donne of the Chicago Sky, who tweeted, “Women were not put on this earth just for men to look at. We are people. We have a purpose. We are role models. I am an athlete first and foremost.”

Let’s say it again: “Women were not put on this earth just for men to look at. We are people.”

Gilbert Arenas – and all men, everywhere – keep your thoughts on who’s fuckable and who’s not to yourself.
