Put on Your Fancy Pants: 7 Springtime Picks

by Intern Kelsie

I am living for printed pants right now. They’re the androgynous alternative to flirty spring dresses and skirts, and they come in a wide range of styles that make them perfect for nearly every body type. Plus, they’re ideal for this transitional weather we’re having; paired with a tank top they’re weekend flea-market friendly or with a well-fitted button down, you could be voted Summer’s Best Dressed at your workplace.

Check out Mad Men beauty January Jones sporting a pair in Los Angeles last week. She looks rad: A. Because she’s January Jones and it would be hard not to and B. Because of her sick printed pants.

If you’re digging her relaxed look like we are, check out these cheap and chic picks below (nothing costs more than $100) and pick up our June/July issue, where we bring you more fun, patterned, dapper duds.

These pants could actually be worn on Mad Men, I think. But they would look just at home in 2012, a modern nod to the pedal pushers our grandmothers rocked back in the day.
Asos, $52.19, sizes 2-14

This floral pair would transform the lucky wearer into an urban Bird of Paradise. The colors are perfect for spring and summer, and the relaxed fit would make it feel like you were on vacation even if you’ve gotta work that 9 to 5, honey.
Zara, $79.90, sizes XS-XL

Not for the faint of heart, these leopard print pants would be awesome for a night on the town. Paired with the neons of the season, these would be a style home run.
Dorothy Perkins, $49, sizes 2-18

I imagine these pants would automatically transform the wearer into Joan Jett. ‘Nuff said.
ModCloth, $89.99, sizes XS-L

My fantasy is finding pants that feel like sweatpants but look super fly. I’m talking stop-people-in-their-tracks level of flyness. These pants seem like they might be the pants of my dreams.
Simple Be, $60, sizes 10-28

Is it possible for pants to scream brunch? Because I think these do.
Forever 21, $19.80, sizes S-L

Reminiscent of these Miu Miu pants (which probably cost maybe 3 months of my rent) this Topshop alternative brings the glamour without the 4-figure price tag.
Topshop, $76, sizes 2-12
