Mermaids Talkin’ ’bout Mermaids!

by callie watts

I just got back from a week of vaca yesterday! In the short time I was gone we got the proofs for the next issue in and it is going to be a real foxy one. Seeing things glossy and bright makes all the difference. Speaking of bright- the BUST neon sign that appeared in my absence keeps me smiling even though I am up to my tits in catch-up work. I may have just got back to work but here it is, the freakin’ weekend baby! Tomorrow is the Coney Island Mermaid Parade and word around town is it may be the last. BUST rocked the parade as Mer-mods back in 2005. We slumber partied in the office to make tails for all the BUST-ies. Our car broke down before the parade even started forcing us to get really crafty and hitch a ride with another vintage car. That is me on the original hood. Note the cops had to get involved.

We jumped ship to this lil jam:

Note: the guy driving was hot and did not seem to care we spilt some beers in his "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" Car.

BUST is not in the parade this year but I will still be representing with the Madagascar Institute. They are insane! I haven’t seen the float yet but I heard word it was going to be a barnacle! Keep an eye out for me, I may re-rep the Mer-mod outfit. It feels like a just took a vaca pit stop to brush up on some office inside jokes and now I am back on the loose. In the words of the Ying Yang Twins "it’s Friday, it’s payday everythings gonna go my way day. I don’t give a fuck what you got to say, I am out this bitch till Monday. I’m off the clock!"

Also: Drunky Brewster Show Monday at the Cakeshop! Check us on the BUST player and fall in love. Then come to the show. We go on around 11. Sorry this blog is so New York but I am so glad to be back.
