Grannies Gone Wild: New Reality Show Gives Retirees Their Day

Old is the new… well, new it would seem by current trends in television.  Hot on the tails of Betty White’s upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live is a new reality show about nine retirees living in a gated community in Arizona called Sunset Daze.  Ranging in ages from 61 to 74, the senior citizens of this show are trying out some new leases on life, from dating to sky diving.

This has the potential to be as bad as any reality show about rich people with too much time, but perhaps the age factor will add a fresh, interesting perspective on the bland, barren wasteland that is reality TV.  And if the show is anything like the previews, which at one point shows all of the women delightfully exclaiming, “battery operated boyfriend!” then it won’t be a total loss.  It premieres on Friday on WEtv, and you can check out the preview below:
