Fred Armisen’s Ira Glass Impression Is a Thick-Framed Work of Genius

It turns out that Portlandia star Fred Armisen has an excellent Ira Glass impression in his arsenal of celebrity impersonations. Armisen delivered his best Ira Glass act on Glass’s own NPR show, This American Life. The impression is also featured in a web exclusive out from NBC. Armisen’s portrayal of Glass was scripted into a “Weekend Update” segment on SNL, but nixed after the audience didn’t find it funny enough. Be sure to check out the video, as well as the prologue from their episode of This American Life. Glass and Armisen may very well have just become my new favorite doppelgängers.
