Eartha Kitt’s Response To Compromising For A Man Is Priceless

by Laurie Henzel

This interview from 1982 with Eartha Kitt is so amazing, I had to watch it three times! Kitt, best know for her hit song “Santa Baby” and her role as Cat Woman on the 1960s TV version of Batman, always spoke her mind (sometimes to the detriment to her career), and once made first wife Lady Bird Johnson cry at a White House luncheon when she spoke out about the Vietnam War: “You send the best of this country off to be shot and maimed. No wonder the kids rebel and take pot.”

In this interview, a fairly annoying interviewer repeatedly asks her if she would compromise for a man, and if she loves herself, her answers are stellar.
