It all started with a ‘zine.
Twenty years ago, we Xeroxed and stapled BUST into existence. Since then, we’ve evolved into one of the most beloved and ballsy women’s magazines in the world, surviving and thriving through some of the most cataclysmic changes in the media landscape.
Our very first issue!
To celebrate this milestone, we’re throwing a good old-fashioned Brooklyn birthday bash featuring performances from some of the most iconic artists of the last 20 years!
The quirky and hilarious Julie Klausner will emcee the evening, which features comedy from Amber Tamblyn, a DJ set by riot grrrl legend JD Samson (Le Tigre, MEN), cabaret by Mr. Murray Hill, performances by hilarious New York rap sensation Awkwafina and the incomparable Cibo Matto, a booty-droppin’ post-show dance party, and even more special surprises to come.
Throughout the evening, we’ll also be presenting our first-ever Golden Bra Awards to our favorite women in pop culture. We’ll be announcing the award winners closer to the party—so stay tuned!
We simply can’t spell BUST without U, so we’re hooking everyone up with some birthday treats! All ticket holders to the BUST 20th Anniversary Extravaganza will receive a free subscription to BUST Magazine and a delicious birthday cupcake courtesy of The Chocolate Swirl. VIP ticket holders will also receive three drinks on us, as well as a special seating area and a limited-edition tote bag filled with fancy-pants goodies.
