Bushwick Burlesque is Back, Thanks to a Very BUSTy Lady

by Bridgette Miller

I wrote about Brooklyn’s Bushwick Burlesque earlier this month, but their show is so nice that I’ve got to tell you twice.

If you stopped by Sunday’s BUST Craftacular at the NY World Maker Faire, you may have created some DIY Bath Bombs or a journal; your instructor for those crafty courses was none other than the bootylicious “bikelesque” babe Miss Spoke.

Known by day as Heather Loop, she brings her passion for bikes and burlesque together onstage. After all, cycling and stripping are more than hobbies–they can be subversive social statements, a cool “fuck you” to expectations. Surely the sexy cyclist knows that she grinds gears and raises more than just a middle finger to the status quo.

Tonight’s edition of Bushwick Burlesque features Miss Spoke doin’ her thang along with Darlinda, Just Darlinda and the very bella Italian burlesque star Dixie Ramone. As a super bonus, attendees can win tickets to the New York Burlesque Festival and gifts from Babeland. Not bad for Bushwick, right?
