What Hand Games Did You Play as a Lil’ Tike? We Want to Know!

by Amy Bucknam

Remember those days on the playground at recess, running around wild and playing hand games with your friends? You know what I’m talking about. There were millions of them – Miss Mary Mack was the queen of these rhythmic narratives.

For example, I personally remember playing this one called “Shame Shame Shame” in the playground as a kid. If you’re not familiar with this one, the adorable little girl in the video below demonstrates it with her dad.

These games were a manifestation of kid culture, and especially of girl culture. And as BUST editor-in-chief Debbie Stoller learned from a bunch of Girl Scouts on her way to the office this morning, they’re still being played today!

We want to hear about the hand games you used to play back in the day!  Let us know in the comment section.
