I realized that my computer truly knew me on the day that the internet started advertising exclusively novelty socks on every single website I visited… Although the image below is incredibly bizarre, the interwebs has clearly detected my love for awesome socks.
You may not know this, but socks are the secret superheroes of outfit-building. A good pair of socks can tie an outfit together, incorporating the varied colors into a unified whole. Or, a great pair of socks can be the highlight of an outfit.

Exhibit A: Before I head off to work in the humid morning, nothing gives me as much joy as pairing my favorite knee-length summer sundress with what I’ve titled my Mona Li-Socks.
Or perhaps, you are feeling a fish-themed ensemble: a matching vintage collared shirt and maxi skirt with a fish print paired with bright yellow socks in the shape of fish. They even have little fins sticking off to the side! Could this look get any more summery?
Another favorite outfit of mine includes casual jean shorts and a t-shirt with my Einstein socks—just Einstein’s face. Over and over again. It helps that I accidentally ran them through the wash with a red t-shirt that dyed Einstein’s hair pink. I think it gives him a kind of punk-nerd vibe.
Oh, and of course I can’t leave out my pair of Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” socks which, with their beautiful deep blue hues and shimmering yellow stars, go pretty well with anything on a temperate summer evening.
