Funeral Selfies are..a thing.
The internet is abuzz right now over a tumblr entitled “Selfies at Funerals,” Wherein– you guessed it– people take selfies at funerals.
Partly in jest, the selfies consist of teenagers making weird faces before , after and during funerals. The hashtags range anywhere from #funeral to #sadday.
Yes, our generation’s access to social media breeds superficiality (see pretty/ugly youtube trend). But holy smokes, I am terrified for the mental health of our teenagers.
Social media is an incredible resource, but my parents wouldn’t let me have a phone until I was fourteen, let alone use it to take selfies of any kind. Are we that far gone, people!?
