Summer Festival Pick: The Elements Lakewood Fest To Host A Special LGBTQIA Event Celebrating Diversity In Music

by Janeth Gonda

Bang On!NYC will be hosting Elements Lakewood Camping Music & Arts Festival in Northeast Pennsylvania May 26-28 2017. The 3-day music festival will feature your favorite musicians and producers across 4 ‘Elemental’ themed stages and 3 indoor late night stages. There will be endless stimulating activities from an interactive theater, art installations, a roller skating rink, a pirate ship you can hail across the lake, and more. At night make sure to bring your own instrument and howl at the moon around the fire jam.

No matter what your interest there is a safe place for everyone to get lost in their own bliss and find a home in their skin. Find your peace of mind with daily workshops including deep house yoga, Reiki, nutri-body workshops, elixir stations, sound baths, Thai massages and of course the nature of the 60 acre festival grounds. On Sunday partake in the LBGQTIA event featuring a lakeside “Hot Fuss Water Stage” in support of diversity and pride in the music community. You can also get down at the Horse Meat Disco, strut your stuff at the “Bushwig’ drag runway show, or check out Kim Ann Foxman and The Carry Nation!

There will be no shortness of bad ass females at the festival featuring amazing DJs such as REEM the head mama at the BAE collective. BAE is a female identifying, cis, trans run collective providing a safe place for artists to come together support and thrive. The BAE collective’s presence will be strong at this year’s festival. You can check out this amazing collective through the work of Nick McManus as he attempts to take the world’s largest polaroid of the group on Sunday, May 29th.

Whatever your reason for coming Elements Lakewood Music festival is definitely a place you won’t want to leave.

Check out this dope recap of last year’s festival.
