Move it along Tag-alongs. Adios, Do-si-dos, there are new cookies to compete with. It’s no secret Girl Scouts have the corner market on cookies. So when celebrating national S’more day, the Girl Scouts of America did it well… like a girl. In conjunction with celebrating 100 years of Girl Scout Cookies, GSUSA revealed yesterday on National S’more Day that they will be adding two new s’more flavored cookies to their rosters and on my honor I will try to eat as many that will fit inside of my face.
S’mores and Girl Scouts already go together like toasted marshmallow and chocolate, and the collaboration is particularly apropo considering the “s’m-origins” of everyone’s favorite campsite cookie is attributed to the Girl Scouts. Though the very first inventor is undocumented, the Girl Scouts get the earliest cred’ for having one of the very first recipes for S’mores, which at the time were called “Some More” and were published in Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts in 1927.
We’ve come a long way since 1927, and according to Today.com, the two updated versions gives you the option of either “two graham cracker cookies stuffed with chocolate and marshmallow filling.” and “one graham cracker cookie is double-dipped in a creamy icing and then coated in chocolate.” S’more than words can describe how we feel about this.
The new cookies won’t be out until January, but that being said, it does give us something to look forward to for winter.
